The Regimental system is the basis for politics in the Shadow Stars. When one becomes a member they are assigned to a regiment, fire, water, earth or air. The regiments remain united and fight along side each other when the Shadow Stars needs defending but during peacetime hold friendly competitions to see which regiment is the stronger.
The Fire and Water regiments provide ground troops, the Air regiment provides pilots and gun ships and the Earth regiment provides armoured vehicles and heavy artillery. Working like this each regiment is able to unite and support each other in a time of war.
One regiment is tasked with defending the gate from possible attackers, all regiment wish to hold this honoured position so tournaments are held regularly with the winning regiment becoming the defender of the gate until the next tournament where they must defend their place.
